Popular crossover redesigned according to drivers wishes
Nissan Qashqai 2022
The third generation Nissan Qashqai debuts. Customer feedback on the popular SUV crossover has led to many small improvements. More environmentally friendly powertrains have been introduced thanks to a new platform.
Nissan has completely revamped the popular Qashqai. This time the starting point was not only the ideas of the (European) design and technical teams, but the feedback from the customers that drove the previous generations. The interior in particular had to believe in it and now looks very different. More uniformity and ergonomics should benefit the operation. Nissan has chosen materials of higher quality.
Thanks to other outer dimensions (including 35 mm extra length, of which 20 mm extra wheelbase) there is more space inside. Rear passengers have a little more legroom. All occupants benefit from extra headroom. The driver has increased visibility to the front, rear and sides. The luggage compartment has a 20 mm lower loading floor, which is one of the reasons why an extra 70 liters can be stored. For parents who want to put children in seats, the larger opening of the rear doors is certainly welcome.
New technique
The Qashqai is on a new underbody for medium-sized cars. Advantages of this CMF-C platform are weight savings (60 kg, improves the handling characteristics), increased stiffness (41 percent, for better safety) and the possibility of more efficient and cleaner drivelines. Earlier we introduced these mild hybrid and ‘e-Power’ drives. To make driving even more efficient, the available transmissions are also new or perfected. The third-generation Qashqai also has new suspension front and rear, plus more responsive power steering.
Nissan Qashqai 2022
Third generation Qashqai riders have improved driver assistance systems. ProPilot (now ‘with Navi-link’) can now automatically adjust the speed of the SUV based on external conditions or based on the navigation system. Intelligent Forward Emergency Braking now uses advanced radar technology. And the light beam of the new, slim headlamps changes with the conditions and the road users present. A new airbag between the front seats prevents these passengers from hitting each other in a side impact.
In addition to the multimedia screen, the instrument panel is now also digital. It can be operated from the steering wheel. In addition, a 10.8 inch Head-Up Display is available. Finally, a first: diamond-polished alloy wheels in the size 20 inch.
