Special milestone for a special drivetrain

Nissan caused quite a stir in 2021 with its e-Power drivetrain. It does the Japanese no harm: 100,000 Europeans have already opted for it, Nissan proudly reports.
Electric drive without charging via a plug. This is of course possible with a fuel cell, but in the case of Nissan’s e-Power drivetrain it is simply possible with a petrol engine. While driving, it generates the power needed for the electric motors that drive the wheels. We got to know it here in the Netherlands with the Nissan Qashqai that came on the market in 2022. The Nissan X-Trail with e-Power also followed shortly afterwards.
Almost a year and a half later, 100,000 Europeans have opted for a Nissan with an e-Power drive. The lion’s share of those 100,000 went for a Qashqai (65,367), the rest (34,663) went for the X-Trail.
