No mountain too high for Toyota Hilux AT35

The English department of Toyota has presented a very rough version of the naturally quite off-road worthy Hilux. This is the Hilux AT35, a pickup for which no mud path is impassable and no mountain is too high.

Anyone in the United Kingdom knocking on the door of a Toyota dealer for a Hilux will now also see the brochure of a version revamped by off-road specialist Arctic Trucks. The Hilux ‘Arctic Trucks’ AT35 is based on the Toyota Hilux with double cab, executed in the ex-factory already adventurous Invincible version. Anyone familiar with the Hilux range will know that the Invincible is always equipped with the most powerful diesel engine with which the Hilux is available: the 203 hp and 500 Nm strong 2.8-D-4D with four-wheel drive. Although the 2.8 in the Hilux Invincible is available in combination with a manual six-speed gearbox and with a six-speed automatic transmission, this Hilux AT35 always has an automatic on board. It is also equipped with a double cabin.

The Hilux AT35 stands 6.5 inches higher on its legs than the Hilux Invincible on which it is based. This greater ground clearance ensures that the approach and departure angles are increased by 9 and 3 degrees respectively. Arctic Trucks has strengthened the chassis and the wheel arches have also been adjusted. They have to be, after all, they are filled by 17-inch alloy around which 35-inch off-road rubber from BFGoodrich is folded. Arctic Trucks puts the Hilux AT35 on special springs and dampers from Bilstein, strengthens the anti-roll bar and says it has also revised both the front and rear differentials. On the outside, the Hilux AT35 distinguishes itself with special badges and an extra bar at the bottom of the back of its ‘normal’ Hilux Invincible brothers. Unfortunately, we do not expect it on the market in the Netherlands.
