
Non -smokers: It is worthwhile – especially because of your health. But there are more good reasons to finally quit smoking.
Notes such as “Smoking is fatal” or daunting images on the cigarette packaging may be unsightly, but often do not really seem to be really daunting. In the worst case, the warnings are glued over or the cigarettes and the rotary tobacco are simply filled into other containers.

1. Non -smoker: In Werden – for the sake of your health
It has long been known that smoking is affected by health. Many smokers still underestimate how much they and their body damage themselves and their body through tobacco consumption:
- Tobacco smoke contains over 4,800 different substances, of which more than 70 are poisonous on the human organism, for example lead, arsenic and hydrocyanic acid.

If you become a non -smoker again, your body recovers in different steps:
- 20 minutes after the last cigarette, blood pressure and pulse drop to normal values.

- After two to three weeks, the lung function improves and the circulation stabilizes.
- After one to nine months, coughing fits and shortness of breath become less common, while the risk of infection drops at the same time.

- After ten years, the risk of developing lung cancer is reduced by half.

Tobacco not only harms people, but also the environment. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the tobacco industry is one of the largest environmental pollution worldwide. The extension is often associated with forest flow, sterile floors and a growing danger of desert formation. It also needs enormous amounts of water and contributes to the climate crisis.
- Around 200,000 hectares of forest are cleared annually for tobacco production.
- Cigarette buttons thrown into nature are a big environmental problem worldwide. A single cigarette button is contaminated between 40 and 60 liters of clean groundwater.
- Tobacco is often dried over wood fire. For about 300 cigarettes, about an entire tree is needed.
- In Malawi alone, around 80,000 children work on tobacco plantations and earn around twelve cents a day. That is not even enough for 500 grams of rice. By working with the tobacco plants, they absorb as much nicotine as if they are smoking 50 cigarettes every day.
- According to the Tobacco Atlas of the WHO, there are also a common cause of forest fires, such as 2003 in Canada, in which over 23,000 hectares of forest are burned.
4. Non -smokers have nicer teeth, hair and nails
Smoking not only harms your health, but also your appearance. Above all, the skin, but also hair, teeth and nails suffer from tobacco consumption.
- If you stop smoking, the discoloration of the fingernails and teeth (after cleaning) go back.
- In addition, your complexion becomes fresh, healthier and even more even.

5. Live more independent, free and more conscious without a cigarette

By becoming independent of cigarettes, you also consolidate your psyche and strengthen them:
- You will no longer wait longing for the next way to smoke a cigarette, but be able to live more relaxed.
- Instead of making your personal well -being dependent on nicotine, you can find your satisfaction in other activities or in yourself and be more freely and independent.
