North American International Auto Show is canceled

This year would be the first time that the North American International Auto Show would no longer take place in January, but June. However, the corona virus throws a spanner in the works: the largest car fair in the United States will not be held at all this year.

The organization behind the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) announces that the car fair will unfortunately not go down this year. This is of course related to the coronavirus, which is spreading like wildfire throughout the world and is also causing serious problems in the United States.

However, it is not just concerns about the further spread of the virus that has caused the organization to cancel the North American International Auto Show. The conference center (TCF Center) in which the car fair is to be held is planned to be used as a temporary hospital for corona patients. “Although we are disappointed, nothing is as important as the health, safety and wellbeing of the citizens of Detroit and the state of Michigan,” said NAIAS director Rod Alberts in a statement.

The next NAIAS will therefore not take place until June 2021, from the nineteenth to the twenty-sixth. All tickets purchased for this year’s edition will be refunded.
