Growth is leveling off
More cars were sold in November than in the same month last year. This means that the trend of improving car sales continues, but growth is leveling off. This is evident from figures from the Bovag and RDC Datacenter and RAI Association.
In November, 27,810 new passenger cars were sold in the Netherlands. That is 2.2 percent more than the 27,224 units registered in the same month last year.
The fact that car sales are increasing for the fourth month in a row is a good thing for the car industry, but the growth is by no means large. Growth percentages of 9.2, 4.8 and 20 percent were still observed in August, September and October.
Over the first eleven months of this year, the registration counter stands at 281,383 units. This means that the registration figures in that period are almost 2 percent behind those of the same period last year.
Toyota
Toyota was the most popular car brand in the Netherlands in November. The most popular model also came out of Toyota’s stable in November. 930 units of the Yaris Cross were delivered in November. That car accounted for a market share of 3.3 percent.
