Best iOS Games November 2020

1. iPhone game of the month: Moonlighter

In most role-playing games you can buy all kinds of weapons and other useful items in shops for your adventures. But where does the retailer actually get these items from? Moonlighter answers that question. In this game, you manage a shop by day and dive into dangerous dungeons at night to defeat enemies and loot to collect.

In the store you place your collected items and give them a price. Then you open the door and let the adventurers in. They look at your goods and show through their emotions what they think of the price.

You can expand the store further and further, so that you can display more goods at the same time. You can also place an offer box or a cash register that entices buyers to tip. If you earn money, you can also invest it in the village. For example, if you build a blacksmith, you can get better weapons to take with you in the dungeons.

roguelike

Moonlighter almost changes into another game when you step into the dungeons. It’s more traditional there roguelike, in which you encounter all kinds of enemies with their own attacks and patterns. If you dive into such a dungeon, you will be presented with random rooms, so you always have to be on your guard. Your goal is to get as far as possible.

The game plays wonderfully, making you think every time: one more dungeon, or one more day in the store. Before you know it, many hours have passed. Is the game getting a bit boring? Then something new is always introduced to keep your attention there again.

Moonlighter was already a success on PC and game consoles, but also fits perfectly on your iPhone. The makers have made some adjustments to make the game more suitable for a touchscreen. In particular, the controls have been successfully overhauled, so that you can, for example, swipe to roll. That works very intuitively. Moonlighter on iOS is therefore an absolute must.

2. Reigns Beyond (Apple Arcade)

The Reigns game series is back, with a completely new setting. Basically the game is unchanged. You have to make choices by swiping cards left or right. This time, however, not as king or queen, but as captain of a spaceship. You will probably often make wrong choices and die as a result. Then just try again and have a whole new adventure. The result is once again a very funny game in which you are always surprised.

5. The Pathless (Apple Arcade)

It’s been a good month for Apple Arcade, with no less than three games on this list. The Pathless stands out because footage from this game was extensively used for the promotion of Apple Arcade. The game lets you glide through a murky, open world, as you shoot your bow and arrow at floating diamonds to gain momentum. Solve puzzles, defeat enemies and feel free.
