It’s been November long and wide, but we still need to update you on this month’s Disney Plus releases. There is quite a lot waiting for us, including Shang-Chi, Hawkeye and Dopesick. What are you going to watch?
Home Sweet Home Alone – November 12
Did you know there are five Home Alone movies? In fact, a sixth film will be added on November 12: Home Sweet Home Alone. The movie is about Max Mercer who – duh! – is forgotten when his family leaves for Japan. Of course, two burglars, Pam and Jeff, are after a family heir, forcing Max to defend his home. Are we waiting for this? Not really, but who knows it might be fun for the kids.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings – November 12
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is coming to Disney Plus on November 12, at no additional cost. The origin story of this relatively unknown superhero was very well received thanks to the insanely well choreographed fight scenes, the charismatic Simu Liu and the beautiful pictures. Shang-Chi’s complex relationship with his father also raises the level of the film above the average MCU project, making it a must-see.
Dopesick – November 12
The acclaimed Hulu series Dopesick will be released on Disney Plus in November. In it, one Dr. Samuel Finnix a highly effective drug on the market, with ‘less than one percent’ of users at risk of becoming addicted. That number appears to be grossly underestimated, with the US’s worst addiction wave ever. With Empire director Danny Strong and great actors like Micheal Keaton, Will Pourter and Rosario Dawson, keep this one in mind.
Olaf Presents – November 12
Your (least) favorite snowman is back for a solo series on Disney Plus: Olaf Presents. In the series, the now actor, producer and director of his own show tells classic Disney stories the way only he can: totally disjointed. The Lion King, Moana and Little Mermaid are featured in five short episodes, all voiced by Josh Gad. It sounds like the perfect series to watch the holidays with your kids, and who knows, maybe they’ll discover something new.
Hawkeye – November 24
Hawkeye has always been seen as the craziest Avenger, but his “re-introduction” in Endgame already hinted at more depth for the superior archer. Fortunately, Hawkeye gets his own series, loosely based on the acclaimed comic from 2019. In it, his actions as the murderous Ronin haunt him and we meet Kate Bishop, played by none other than Hailee Steinfield. Furthermore, it seems to be a nice action series à la The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, with a good dose of Christmas atmosphere. Because yes, the year is already coming to an end.
Disney Plus Day
Not to mention this: November 12 is Disney Plus Day, already the second anniversary of the streaming service. In addition to some great releases, the company is also broadcasting a livestream with various announcements, including a look at the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The schedule has yet to be fully revealed, but Friday might be a good time to keep an eye on the site!
