Remodding

Audi temporarily revives the NSU Prinz. It pushes forward this NSU EP4, an electric reincarnation of the NSU Prinz with the heart of the Audi e-tron.
This year marks 150 years since NSU was founded. NSU started its earthly existence as a sewing machine manufacturer and presented its first car at the beginning of the last century. Twelve ‘students’ at Audi celebrate this in a special way by presenting the EP4: a special one resto mod based on the NSU Prinz 4.
The ‘E’ in the name of the special creation stands for Electric Drive. P4, in turn, refers to ‘Prinz 4’, the model produced between 1961 and 1972. The 30 hp and just under 600 cc two-cylinder of the original has been replaced by a 240 hp electric motor from a 2020 Audi e-tron. The battery pack is a 17.3 kWh large one that is normally used in the plug-in hybrid Audi Q7 TFSI e lies. The battery pack is not incorporated in the bottom, but can be found under the front cover where the EP4 once had its gas tank. The tailgate can be put in a half-open position, a nod to the NSU Prinz 1000 and its sportier derivatives.
The EP4 is basically a Prinz 4 from 1970 that first had to be cleaned of some rust. Afterwards, the car was painted in the Audi colors Suzuka Gray and Brilliant Black and covered with the necessary 150 stickers. Does the rest of the car also come from that Prinz 4? No. The carriage of the Prinz P4 stands on a modified bottom plate of an Audi A1. The axles and brakes also come from the A1.
