The number of (semi) public charging points in the Netherlands is approaching 60,000, according to an overview published Wednesday by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO). According to the service, there are 59,860 such charging points spread across the country.
In addition, the Netherlands now has 1,463 fast charging points, the RVO reports in its monthly overview. The largest number of charging points are in the province of South Holland, followed by North Holland and North Brabant. The number will increase explosively in the coming years. Last July, a plan was presented whereby hundreds of new charging points will be installed every day.
All-electric cars accounted for 16.3 percent of new registrations in August and vehicles with plug-in hybrid powertrain accounted for 4.8 percent. The Tesla Model 3 was registered most often in August. This concerned 627 copies. That was good for sixth place in the general sales list last month.
Measured up to and including August, the share of fully electric vehicles in sales amounts to 10.2 percent. That is an increase of 2.8 percentage points compared to the same period a year earlier.
