Nissan presents the new X-Trail in China. The car will eventually also come to Europe. Anyone who follows Techzle closely knows that the new X-Trail is less ‘fresh’ than you might initially think. In the summer of 2022, the new Nissan X-Trail will hit the Dutch market.
The X-Trail, which currently still populates Nissan’s Dutch showrooms, is in fact the previous generation of the SUV called ‘Rogue’ in the United States. It was given a new generation in mid-2020 and from that moment it was already clear how the new X-Trail to be shipped to Europe in the long term would be designed. In China, the X-Trail intended for the Chinese market is now making its public debut. Indeed, the latest X-Trail is, except for a handful of market-specific details, identical to the American Rogue. The interior of the Chinese X-Trail does have a larger infotainment screen than its American equivalent.

The X-Trail is just like the Rogue about 4.65 meters long, which makes it about 20 to 25 centimeters longer than the new Qashqai. The wheelbase of the X-Trail is 2.71 meters. Just like the Qashqai, the new X-Trail will have access to the innovative e-Power powertrain. For the European market, you can also count on mild hybrid petrol engines. In China, the new X-Trail will at least come on the market with a 204 horsepower blown 1.5, but whether that power source will also be delivered in Europe is still the question.
The new Nissan X-Trail will not hit the Dutch market until the summer of next year.
