NIO thinks ahead: charge the battery or change the battery

On the road within five minutes with a full battery

At the beginning of December, NIO opened the first battery exchange station in the Netherlands, next to the Van der Valk Hotel Tilburg on the A58. This Power Swap Station can charge 13 battery packs at the same time and within five minutes the empty battery of an NIO is replaced by one that is charged to 90%, at least as fast as a regular fuel stop. As a user you can choose between a 75, 100 and in the future even a 150 kWh battery. Conventional charging is of course also possible.

NIO is a new, visionary manufacturer of fully electric, high-quality and, above all, smart cars. In 2021, the first model in Europe was introduced in Norway, the NIO ES8, the SUV model. NIO’s first Smart Electric Sedan, the ET7, was unveiled the same year and is now available in Europe. The EL-7 SUV will be available from mid-Q1 2023. But NIO offers more than just mobility. For example, you can use the NIO app, NIO House and the lifestyle brand NIO Life, which collaborates with 500 designers worldwide. With NIO Power you have a smart energy service system based on the NIO Power Cloud.

Top class limousine: the NIO ET7

The new NIO ET7 nestles in the top segment. A large limousine with the lines of a coupé and the second lowest air resistance of any production car in the world. Together with the efficient powertrain – two engines, together good for 480 kW/652 hp – this results in a range of 580 kilometers (WLTP). The technology and infotainment system are just as impressive. The NIO ET7 has a total of 33 sensors that help that driver, a Dolby Atmos sound system with 23 speakers and NOMI, your personal assistant that interacts with you. Even an electrically retractable towbar is standard, which can handle 2,000 kg.

Spacious SUV full of innovation: the NIO EL7

With a length of 4.91 meters and a wheelbase of 2.96 meters, the NIO EL7 is an SUV that is clearly a size larger than the average in this segment. This results in a spacious interior, where five adults can sit comfortably. Just like the ET7, the EL7 was also developed from the outset to be able to drive autonomously. With a high-precision LiDAR system and multiple 8 Megapixel cameras, the EL7 is ready for anything. The interior feels like a living room and a smart ventilation system with invisible grilles ensures a pleasant climate. The panoramic cinema cockpit is controlled by a powerful computer and the sound system has 23 speakers and has 1,000 watts of power. The front seats are 14-way adjustable and are heated, ventilated and have a massage function. The outer two rear seats are also six-way electrically adjustable. The four wheels are driven by two motors, good for 480 kW/652 hp and a range of up to 513 km (WLTP) and a trailer of 2,000 kg can be attached to the standard, electrically retractable towbar.

Sporty, smart sedan: the NIO ET5

The sporty and elegantly lined NIO ET5 has the same DNA as the two larger models. And at NIO, more compact does not mean less comprehensively equipped. On the contrary, the NIO ET5 also has all the safety systems and advanced technology that are characteristic of the ET7 and EL7.
