Opel’s vision for the future is crystal clear. The popular German car manufacturer is fully committed to electrification of the model range. The counter now stands at twelve electrified Opel models. But there is much more to come.

With the successful and sporty Corsa-e and Mokka-e, Opel is seriously participating in the compact segment of the electric car market. Of the new Astra and Grandland Plug-in Hybrid the German brand is now also seriously working in the higher segment. This is completely in line with the longer-term strategy: an electrified variant of every Opel model must be available by 2024. And it still doesn’t stop. By 2028, every new Opel produced for the European market will be fully electric. Opel wants to be present across the entire range of the delivery program, from small to large, with a flashy EV.

All of Holland electric

Opel is taking it seriously. Every electric car of the brand is equipped with a water-cooled battery as standard. This keeps the operating temperature optimal, so that the battery performs most efficiently. The eight-year warranty up to a maximum of 160,000 km is also not self-evident and gives confidence to those who switch to electric driving. The range is also reassuring. Both the Mokka-e and the Corsa-e score 337 km according to the independent WLTP measurement method.

Electric future

Electric is the future and Opel is taking it one step further with the Vivaro-e Hydrogen. This is a fully electric commercial vehicle that generates its own electricity thanks to a fuel cell.

The article continues below the image.

The fuel cell is fed with hydrogen from hydrogen tanks at the bottom of the Vivaro. A compact electric motor, which is simply located under the hood, supports the fuel cell. Thanks to the efficient layout, this Vivaro with 5.3 to 6.1 cubic meters of cargo space is still just as practical as the regular Vivaro. And thanks to a range of 400 km (WLTP), it is very usable.
