Less Hybrid, more Mild.
The Opel Corsa, facelifted earlier this year, was already extensively presented as an electric Corsa-e, but of course the compact Opel will also be available again with petrol engines. This also includes a set of new mild-hybrid machines for the model that it has on the shelves for this new Opel Corsa Hybrid.
The current generation Opel Corsa made its debut in 2019 as an electric Corsa-e and was later also presented with petrol engines. This year the Opel Corsa was facelifted quite thoroughly. The hatchback was fitted with the now well-known Vizor face and the electric, now called Corsa Electric, variant was given access to a new, more powerful drivetrain and a more efficient battery pack. Opel already announced the arrival of mild-hybrid powertrains for the Corsa and today the brand is putting its money where its mouth is.
The bright red Opel Corsa in these photos goes by the name Corsa Hybrid. That may feel a bit misleading, because it is not a full-fledged hybrid, but a mild hybrid. The Opel Corsa Hybrid has 100 hp and 205 Nm and 136 hp and 230 Nm powerful 1.2 three-cylinder petrol engines that are supported by 48V mild-hybrid hardware. Regardless of the selected power variant, the Corsa Hybrid has a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that houses a 28 hp and 55 Nm electric motor. The average consumption of the mild-hybrid Corsa Hybrid with 100 hp should be 4.6-4.7 l/100 kilometers.
The Opel Corsa with non-mild hybrid petrol engines will continue to exist, so the Corsa range will soon be quite extensive. Prices are not yet available, but we do know that the Corsa Hybrid will be delivered in the first quarter of 2024.
