Opel Kadett Caravan (1982) – Into the Wild

The Opel Kadett D is one that you hardly ever see again, especially such a three-door caravan. It is certainly no longer in its original condition, but that does not stop us from putting it in the spotlight.

There are several reasons why you hardly see the Opel Kadett D anymore. First of all, it was a Kadett with a fairly short breath, because he gave up after five years. In addition, the Opel was not exactly built for eternity. So much fun to come across one again and certainly in its most special form, as a three-door station wagon. Reason enough for the undersigned to put it in the picture.

The not entirely original appearance somewhat betrays that someone has been busy with the Kadett. For example, it is a bit lower on its non-original wheels and there is a special grille with spotlights in the nose. The young owner of the Kadett was nearby and explained that the car was once also properly addressed technically. There is a real 1.8 injection engine from the Kadett GTE, which produces 115 hp. With that, this Kadett Caravan should at least be able to leave all its original station wagon brothers behind, although it will unfortunately not hit them again any time soon.

There is also tinkering in the interior; for example, the Recaro sports seats from a GTE have been put in. We also see a speedometer from the GTE, which continues up to 220 km / h. Purists may not like it, but it is clear that something special has been made of it. In addition, we can only encourage that such a driving piece of history is kept on the road. Hopefully this Kadett can put a smile on the owner’s face for a long time to come!
