Opel recently released an image of an Opel Manta A that has been modernized and features an electric powertrain. Now we get to see more, including a possible hint to a new Opel label.
Just a month ago, Opel stepped into the spotlight with the Manta GSe Electromod. We only got to see it from above, but now there is more of a picture. We see a Manta A equipped with Opel’s ‘Vizor Grille’, the new face of Opel that has now been introduced on the Mokka and Crossland. In addition, Opel already indicated that, as the name implies, it is a Manta with an electric powertrain. Although Opel does not reveal any further details about this, this Manta seems mainly a subtle hint to the (partly) electric future of other Opels.
Opel GSe
In the nose of the Manta, in which the Vizor Grille functions as a screen, Opel conjures up various visualisations. One of them is the GSe logo that goes with this Manta. “The ‘e’ in GSe now stands for electrification,” said Opel. We understand that, since this Manta is electric, but Opel has even taken the trouble to design a special GSe logo for it. That makes you think; sister brand Peugeot will from now on press the PSE label on sporty (partly) electric models, perhaps that kite will go on for GSe at Opel.
Soon we will get to see more of this Manta and we may therefore also hear more about the GSe label.
