Earlier this week, MV Agusta CEO Timur Sardarov, a Russian citizen, sent an internal email to his colleagues expressing his feelings and stance on the current situation in Ukraine. Sardarov said this letter could be shared.
“Dear colleagues,
I would like to address you in these difficult times, as you are sure that a war is raging between Russia and Ukraine. For me as a Russian it is the greatest tragedy of my 40 years of existence. I never thought I would feel so betrayed by the action of my own country.
I have many friends in Ukraine and many friends and family in Russia. During my upbringing and the upbringing of my parents, we always regarded each other as close brother nations.
We had free movement between our cities, we never saw each other as different. We supported each other, we fell in love – before these horrific atrocities were committed by the Russian regime.
My whole family is shocked, all the people I know are shocked, angry and feel betrayed.
The consequences for Europe and the whole world are very unpredictable.
The rhetoric coming out of the Russian and Western media is so polarized that it makes me sick. I believe most Russians feel the same way. Russians are a very proud nation and in our history no one has ever betrayed us more than this regime led by Putin.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all the Ukrainian people and the poor Russian soldiers, young boys thrown into this fratricidal conflict.
Sorry for emotions, but I don’t have many people to express them to and I consider you all my family.
Yours sincerely,
Timur Sardarov”
