‘Order date for electric car should determine addition’

The date of ordering a new car should determine the addition that you will pay. This is what the Association of Business Drivers advocates.

Anyone who orders a new electric car this year naturally hopes that it will be delivered before the end of 2021. After all, you can then still benefit from the addition benefits that apply to EVs this year. As of January 1, 2022, you will no longer pay a 12 percent addition on the first €40,000, but 16 percent on the first €35,000. Due to global delivery problems due to chip shortages, many cars will not be delivered until 2022. According to the Association of Business Drivers (VZR), many business drivers will soon have to deal with a higher addition than that which was chosen. VZR therefore argues that the date of order of the car should apply to the additional tax credit.

VZR is of the opinion that business drivers opt for the addition that applies at that time when the car is ordered. “On our website 160 percent more addition calculations are performed. Everyone wants to know where they stand and that is not clear with the current situation. VZR therefore advocates that the order date be leading for the addition,” says VZR chairman Jan van Delft in an accompanying letter.
