With 10 days to go, time is seriously running out, but it is still possible to order an electric car with an 8 percent addition. To make the choice process a bit easier for the business driver, we have come up with a handy overview: these are the electric cars that you can still drive in 2020.
The showrooms are closed and the year is almost over, but luckily the car sales are continuing. Car dealers can navigate their way through the situation with test drives and home services, especially when electric cars are involved. After all, it is very important for those cars to get them to the customer as quickly as possible. On January 1, 2021, the addition to these cars will increase from 8 to 12 percent. In addition, the low addition then applies up to an amount of € 40,000, where the limit is € 45,000 this year.
Act quickly
Fortunately, that does not mean that there will be no more options after January 1. The Date of First Admission (DET) is leading for the addition, not the date of the ascription. A car that had a license plate in 2020 will therefore also enjoy the current benefits in 2021. Yet it is important to act quickly for those who still want an 8 percent addition. Stock is limited, demand is high (despite everything).
Up to € 60,000
The overview below is based entirely on the stocks of the brands themselves. Any stock of a lease company is therefore not included in this. In the overview we limit ourselves to cars of a maximum of € 60,000. That is more than the addition limit of € 45,000, but the Tesla Model 3 and Polestar 2 have sufficiently demonstrated that this will not deter the buyer. The only exceptions to the 60 mille limit are a number of copies of the Tesla Model 3. A Long Range with some options is simply more expensive, but there is also a wide choice of less expensive copies.
In order to provide insight into which electric cars are still available with a registration number from 2020, we first checked all online stocks. At Volkswagen, Tesla and Peugeot, among others, it is immediately clear how the stock is doing. This is less clear for other brands, but importers can provide an estimate if requested.
Stock King
The brands with ample stock are Aiways, BMW (i3 only), DS, Hyundai, Lexus, Mazda, MG, Mini, Nissan, Opel (Corsa-e), Peugeot, Renault, Skoda, Smart and Tesla. The absolute stock king, however, is Volkswagen. The amount of ID3s that that brand is currently bringing to our country is unprecedented. At the time of writing, there are no fewer than 790 in Volkswagens online ‘Stocklocator’, so those who want one more have an extensive choice.
Not Polestar, but Volvo
The situation is very different at Kia. Only here and there a copy of the e-Soul could be at a dealer, for the e-Niro the importer has no hope anymore. At Polestar, you can completely forget about it. It can take until mid-2021 before a car now ordered is delivered and there is no question of any stock. Those who would still like to drive a Volvo product can still give a bell for a Volvo XC40 P8 Recharge. The fully electric XC40 has only just arrived, but there are still a few copies waiting for a rider here and there.
