‘Paris SUV rules are not for SUVs – AutoWeek Podcast

A new episode of our Podcast! Marco and Roy discuss the new electric Porsche Macan and the new parking rules for SUVs in Paris. And Marco has some complaints about the ADAS systems in cars. You can listen below or via your own podcast app!

In this episode we focus on the new parking rules in Paris.

Do you have a car that weighs 1,600 kilos or heavier? Then you will soon pay – hold on – €18 per hour in the city center. Outside the city center you pay a lower rate, but at €12 per hour that is still not low.

A higher weight limit applies to electric cars. You’re in good hands with an electric car weighing up to 2,000 kilos. Is your EV 2,000 kilos or heavier? The higher rates do not apply to those who live in Paris and park their car in front of the door. Reason for the men to respond to this is that this policy actually does not have much to do with SUVs.

Porsche also unveiled its new Macan. And with that, the Taycan is no longer the only electric Porsche. The brand new Macan is always electric, currently produces up to 639 hp and has a range of up to 619 kilometers. He will come to the Netherlands this year. Roy and Marco are positive but also somewhat disappointed. Because with the Taycan, Porsche pushed some boundaries. That model has received some updates and is now faster than ever. When is too fast too fast?
