Petrol price has fallen for the first time in ages

In recent weeks, fuel prices have increased daily and often even by significant steps. For the first time in ages, the price of petrol has not increased, but has actually fallen slightly. Diesel has become more expensive again.

The average national suggested retail price (GLA) for a liter of Euro95 (E10) is €2.49, according to consumer collective UnitedConsumers. For the first time in a long time, the price of petrol has not risen, but has actually fallen. The drop is pretty sketchy, but nowadays every little bit helps. Yesterday the average national suggested retail price of a liter of Euro95 was €2.50.

While the average national retail price, which UnitedConsumers calculates based on the suggested retail prices of the five major oil companies, has fallen, that of diesel has unfortunately increased again. The liter price of diesel continues to rise and is two euro cents higher than yesterday at €2.38. The GLA of LPG is €1.32 and UnitedConsumers has calculated a liter price of €2.58 for a liter of Euro98 (E5). It is not yet possible to say with certainty whether the liter price of diesel will continue to rise from now on, while that of petrol will decrease, according to UnitedConsumers. In any case, it would be the first time that diesel is more expensive than petrol.
