Another day, another record fuel price. The average national suggested retail price of a liter of Euro 95 (E10) is almost €2.50. In addition, the price for a liter of diesel has increased enormously. According to UnitedConsumers, the average national suggested retail price of a liter of diesel is no less than €2.28.
UnitedConsumers calculates the Average National Recommended Retail Price (GLA) of fuel on a daily basis, based on the suggested retail prices of the five largest oil companies. Yesterday, the consumer collective expressed the fear that the GLA of a liter of Euro 95 (E10) – which was then still €2.35 – would touch on €2.50 this week. A day later that is almost reality. The average national suggested retail price of a liter of petrol is already €2.48. Texaco even charges a suggested retail price of €2.50.
The average suggested retail price of a liter of petrol is also absurdly high. Where the GLA of a liter of diesel was €2.14 yesterday, the liter price today is a towering €2.28. Shell today uses a suggested retail price for diesel of no less than €2.39. The average national suggested retail price of a liter of LPG is €1.29. High fuel prices are a direct result of the war in Ukraine.
The above liter prices are mainly charged along the highways. Fortunately, there is a good chance that you can find lower liter prices at the local pump. At the end of last year, the price per liter of petrol was €2.08.
