The Peugeot 2008 was the most popular car in Europe in October. This is evident from figures from Jato Dynamics. The French brands are also well represented in the European sales ranking.
In October, with 665,000 units sold in the European Union, no less than 30 percent fewer cars were sold than in the same month last year. Thanks to Jato Dynamics, we now also know which cars found a new European owner in that month.
In October, 18,109 copies of the Peugeot 2008 were sold in Europe, making it the best-selling car in Europe that month. The compact crossover manages to keep some distance between the number two, in that place we find the Renault Clio with 14,639 copies sold.
Position three is for the Dacia Sandero, a car with which the Romanians have been doing good business for some time. Dacia sold 14,034 units in October. In fourth place we find another Peugeot, the new 208 claims this position with 13,978 copies sold in October. The Ford Focus is in the middle of the sales top 10 with 12,704 cars sold, followed by two Fiats. The Fiat 500 (12,555 units) and Fiat Panda (12,391) are successively in sixth and seventh place. In eighth place is Opel’s brother of the Peugeot 208: the Corsa. Opel managed to sell 12,355 Corsas in October. Compatriot Volkswagen claims the ninth place with the T-Roc and the Renault Captur that has not been able to leave the higher regions of Europe’s sales statistics for years, closes the top 10 with 12,099 units.
