Peugeot 205 (1989) – Enthusiast Wanted

There are really enough Peugeots 205 to be found that look neater than this red one from 1989, but this one is just as worthy of attention as far as we are concerned. After all, the flush is slowly starting to get a bit thin in terms of 205s below €1,000, but it remains just under with an asking price of €950. The fact that it is reasonably priced is probably mainly because it does not appear to be the neatest anymore. Certainly the torn seat cover can put people off. Moreover, it is also quite an old beast. With a little further searching you will find several up to nine years newer 205s.

So why is it fun to consider this? Well, just because it’s so old. There is no shortage of pre-facelift 205s on offer and they are often (much) more expensive than this one, because there are enough collectors or enthusiasts looking for them. In addition, he has (arguably) less than 90,000 km behind him and that is of course very little for his age. That is no guarantee that everything is still technically sound and unfortunately we are not much wiser in that regard from the advertisement. Also, the apk is about to expire. All in all, that’s a risk. Anyway, often you can get a 205 back on the road with not too much money and you can also conjure up a set of better chairs somewhere. Then with some extra investment you may soon have a very nice, modest 205 in front of your door that will only become more valuable. Because don’t expect it to get any cheaper than this.
