Peugeot, like its sister brands, comes with a van with a fuel cell on board. This is the Peugeot e-Expert Hydrogen.
Stellantis announced in March that it is expanding its range of purely electrically powered vans with versions that can also handle hydrogen. Opel had the scoop with the Vivaro-e Hydrogen, now it is Peugeot that lifts its own hydrogen van on the podium. In principle, it is the well-known Peugeot e-Expert, but with a fuel cell on board.
The Peugeot e-Expert has a 10.5 kWh battery pack in combination with a fuel cell instead of the well-known 50 kWh or 75 kWh battery packs. The same 136 hp electric motor as in the regular e-Expert draws its power from the battery pack or from the fuel cell. If you fill up the hydrogen tank completely, you can travel 400 km (WLTP) on hydrogen. Refueling is done in 3 minutes. The battery pack can also be charged, which means that an extra 50 km range is added.
Stellantis has packed the technology in the space released by the smaller battery pack in such a way that the space in the e-Expert Hydrogen is the same as that of the regular e-Expert. The maximum loading volume is thus again 6.1 cubic meters. A shorter variant with 5.3 cubic meters of cargo space is also coming. The maximum payload is 1,100 kilos and the e-Expert Hydrogen can pull up to 1,000 kilos. The e-Expert Hydrogen will be launched in France and Germany at the end of this year. The Netherlands will undoubtedly follow in the new year.
