Alfa Romeo will only have electric cars in its range from 2027, DS will only release new electric models from 2024 and the long-standing Lancia will only launch new EVs from 2026. Opel has indicated that it will switch to electric cars only from 2028 and Peugeot is the next major player whose European EV strategy has become more concrete. Peugeot CEO Linda Jackson tells Automotive News that Peugeot will only sell electric cars in Europe from 2030.
Peugeot currently has electric versions of the 208 and 2008 and, in addition to electric versions of the Rifter and Traveler, the brand has electrically powered variants of the Partner and Expert commercial vehicles. Many new models will be added in the coming years, including a fully electric new Peugeot 308. Peugeot will also be expanding its range of electrified and therefore hybrid or plug-in hybrid models in the coming years.
