Peugeot launches electric coupe SUV

Crossovers and SUVs, as a car manufacturer you can’t have enough of them these days. Peugeot will eventually expand its line-up with a coupĂ© SUV, a car that has unintentionally ended up on the internet.

The Spanish Motor.es reports on the basis of a photo allegedly distributed for internal use by Peugeot that has surfaced via Worldscoops that Peugeot will eventually expand the 308 family with a third body variant. The 308 Hatchback and 308 SW would be a coupĂ© crossover next to them. It would be that car that can be seen on this plate shot in the paint shop of Stellantis’ factory in the French Mulhouse – where the 308 is built, among other things.

The coupé SUV that Peugeot is to be added to the 308 family would be referred to internally as P54. The car would be on the eVMP platform specifically intended for electric cars, a modular base that of course indicates that the new crossover will have an electric powertrain. The new model should be built in the French Mulhouse and China in the second half of next year. Whether this electric new model is the electric 308 whose arrival Peugeot has confirmed is not entirely clear. Should that be the case, then the electric DS 4 and the already announced Opel Astra-e could also become a completely different kind of model than originally thought,
