Photo app Prisma allows users to create and download filters

Photo app Prisma now allows certain users to create new filters for the app. A store will also be added to download these new filters for free.

You can do this with the Prisma filters

The Prisma app is expanding. Users can now create their own artistic filters. This sounds more difficult than it is. The company has created a web tool that users can upload an image to. The tool then analyzes that image and creates a filter based on its properties. At the moment, only the most active users of Prisma can use the tool, but the company promises that more users will be able to use it in the future and that a version for smartphones will also be made.

This does not mean that this position is not useful now. The app has received an update with a store where new filters can be found. Although this section is called a shop, you don’t have to pay for these new filters (yet). Premium filters may be added in the future.

When this tool works well, it’s a nice way to keep Prisma up to date again. Companies such as Google and Facebook are working on their own version of the intelligent filters that are created via machine learning. By letting users now create their own filters, anyone can theoretically publish something unique. However, we can hardly imagine that the results will be as good as with the existing filters. In the summer of 2016, Prisma was the big hit of the moment. With the limited number of filters that could be used in the app at the time, Prisma managed to amaze everyone.

Download Prism

Prisma can be downloaded for free from the App Store by clicking on the link below. To use the app you need 135MB of free space and you must run at least iOS 9. It may be that the store will have to wait a while with new filters.
