Since the release of iOS 26, iPadOS 26 and macOS Tahoe, Apple has expanded the Music app with a useful new feature: music pinning. This allows you to place favorite albums, playlists or songs at the top of your library so they are always immediately accessible.
Instead of always browsing through your collection or search results, your most listened to pieces of music are now directly at your fingertips. This makes the Music app more personal and efficient in daily use. We explain how you can do this on your iPhone, iPad or Mac.
Pin and pin music to your library
You can pin albums, artists and playlists so that your favorite music always appears at the top of the library. This provides faster access to frequently listened to content.
- Open the Music app
- Navigate to the album or playlist you want to pin
- Tap or click on the three dots
- Select ‘Create’ from the context menu [onderdeel] fixed’

The selected music is pinned to the top of the Library tab. On the Mac you can find these components in the sidebar under ‘Pins’. This way you quickly have your favorite music within reach.
Unpin pinned music
You can also unpin music that you placed at the top of the Library tab using the same steps.
- Open the Music app on your iPhone or iPad
- Navigate to the ‘Library’ tab
- Place your finger on the pinned music
- Select ‘Create’ from the context menu [onderdeel] loose’

On a Mac, you can immediately secondary-click (right-click) the album or playlist in the sidebar under Pins. Then choose ‘Create [onderdeel] loose’.
Sync with iCloud
The feature also works seamlessly on iPhone, iPad and Mac, so everything you pin automatically syncs via iCloud. Whether you’re listening on the go with your iPhone or using your Mac at home, your pinned music will appear everywhere. It’s not just about convenience, but also about having more control over your music experience: you decide which content is central to your library.
