The Pixel 6 series are the best-selling phones that Google has released. The company said so in a message to shareholders. The Pixel 6 series is good value for money, but came with a lot of software issues.
Pixel 6 sale
It’s not often that Google openly communicates about the sale of its smart home products and phones. This time, Google CEO Sundar Pichai has against its shareholders said something about the sales of his Pixels, but he didn’t mention numbers. This is what he said:
In terms of hardware, the Pixel 6 is a big step forward in the range and it felt good to see the reactions from users. It is the fastest selling Pixel phone, we introduce more consumers to the brand and make a lot of progress
Strong hardware, software issues
Without further information, the CEO of Google announces that the Pixel 6 series sells the best of all phones in the series and Google has already referred to the good sales of the series. In our review of the phone, we were very excited about the hardware that Google presents in exchange for its price. The Tensor chipset makes the phone perform like a flagship, the camera performance of the phones is exceptional, the battery life is decent and the screen is definitely good.
Still, that doesn’t tell the full story about the Pixel 6 series. Every smartphone has to deal with software errors from time to time, but with the Pixel 6 series, an extraordinary number of problems surfaced. It sometimes caused the phone to receive its beta and security updates later than planned.
Google I/O 2022
Pichai also shares with shareholders that he is looking forward to upcoming Google products and that he can share more about them at the Google I/O conference. Google I/O will take place on May 11 and 12 and Google is expected to present its Pixel 6a along with its first smartwatch: the Pixel Watch.
