Plug-in hybrid Audi Q5 not safe for Abt

German tuner Abt has turned to the plug-in hybrid versions of the Audi Q5. Both the 50 TFSI-e and the 55 TFSI-e get a power boost.

Those who shop at Audi for a plug-in hybrid SUV can choose from two variants of the Q5. The long-legged is available as 299 hp and 450 Nm strong 50 TFSI-e and as 367 hp and 500 Nm powerful 55 TFSI-e. In both cases there is a 252 hp and 370 Nm strong 2.0 TFSI in the nose. It’s that gasoline engine jacked up by Abbot.

After Abt’s power cure, which mainly consists of a rewritten engine management system, the 2.0 TFSI in both plug-ins now delivers 58 hp and 50 Nm extra. Abt does not mess with the electric motor and that means that the system power of the 55 TFSI-e after the Abt treatment will be 425 hp and 550 Nm. The 50 TFSI-e comes out at the bottom of the line to a combined power of 357 hp and 500 Nm.

Abt immediately makes a set of new alloy wheels available, which have a diameter of 20 inches on the 55 TFSI-e. Abt keeps a close eye on how fast the custom plug-ins are. The regular Q5 50 TFSI-e is able to sprint to a speed of 100 km / h in 6.1 seconds. The Q5 55 TFSI-e gets that job done in 5.3 seconds.
