Poco has announced two mid-range phones: the Poco F4 and the X4 GT. They can be bought from 379 euros, but both have a powerful chipset given their price. Fast charging is possible with a 67W fast charger. This is what you need to know about the new devices.
Poco F4
Let’s start with the little brother of the Poco F4 GT that we recently tested in the editorial. The Poco F4 base model runs on a powerful 3.2GHz Snapdragon 870 processor. It is assisted by 6 or 8 GB of RAM and Poco uses the fast LPDDR5 memory. The Poco F4 also comes with 128 or 256 GB of storage and it works with 5G.
The battery of the phone is a 4,500 mAh one and it only charges wired with the supplied 67W fast charger. The screen of the Poco F4 is just like the GT version a 6.67 inch AMOLED panel. The screen has a Full HD resolution and works with a 120Hz refresh rate. Poco underlines the high brightness up to 1,300 nits. The Poco F4 can display HDR10+ content and it is protected by Gorilla Glass 5.
Free repair
Like the GT version, this phone comes with a fingerprint scanner on the side. The phone also has a pair of dual speakers that support Dolby Atmos sound effects. Your phone is fully charged in 38 minutes. It is striking that Poco also unpacks with its after-sales services, because up to six months after purchase you can sign up for a free screen repair. The camera of the Poco F4 has been upgraded over the more expensive GT version. The 64 MP main camera is this time assisted by optical image stabilization (OIS), which should yield sharper images and better night photos. There is also an 8 MP wide-angle camera and a 2 MP macro camera. On the front you will find a 20 MP selfie camera.
Poco X4 GT
With the Poco X4 GT, Xiaomi’s subsidiary brand is launching a more powerful version of the X4 Pro that it showed in February and which we also tested. The chipset also gets a major upgrade with this smartphone: the 2.2 GHz Snapdragon 695 is exchanged for the much faster 2.85 GHz MediaTek Dimensity 8100, which also works with 5G. The X4 GT comes standard with 8 GB of RAM and there is a choice of 128 or 256 GB of storage.
Poco opts for a 6.6-inch LCD screen with this phone and it works with a refresh rate of up to 144Hz. The brightness of the panel is up to 650 nits. The X4 GT comes with a large 5,080 mAh battery that you can also charge with the 65W fast charger. The camera is also a 64 MP one here, but without OIS. The phone also comes with an 8 MP wide-angle camera, a 2 MP macro camera and a 16 MP selfie camera.
Buy Poco F4
The Poco F4 comes in three colors: Night Black, Moonlight Silver and Nebula Green. It will be available in stores from June 27, 1:00 PM to July 2, 1:00 PM for an early bird price of EUR 350 (6 GB/128 GB) and EUR 399 (8 GB/256 GB), respectively.
