The Polestar 2 range was expanded downwards earlier this year with cheaper front-wheel drive versions. This time Polestar adds something to the absolute top tier of the Polestar 2.
The 408 hp and 600 Nm Polestar 2 Long Range Dual Motor was for a long time the only version of Polestar’s first electric model. You can now also get the Polestar 2 as a front-wheel drive Long Range Single Motor and as a Standard Range Single Motor. Polestar does not forget the fans of heavy mountains of electric horsepower, however, and is putting the Long Range Dual Motor in the spotlight with a new software update.
Polestar is now offering the Performance Update for the Polestar 2 Long Range Dual Motor. This €1,000 cost over the air (OTA) update increases the combined power of the two normally 408 hp and 660 Nm strong electric motors to no less than 476 hp and 680 Nm. 68 hp and 20 Nm gain. The Polestar 2 Long Range Dual Motor was no slow boy with its 0-100 sprint of just 4.7 seconds, but after the Performance upgrade, the EV is even faster. The popular Polestar zooms to 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds. Good news: Under normal driving conditions, the power cycle has no effect on the Polestar 2’s energy consumption.
Polestar 2 Performance Update
The Performance update is currently only available to customers who have purchased the Polestar 2, the power cure is not yet available for copies registered through a lease construction. Those who purchase the Performance upgrade will receive a set of stickers from Polestar that you can use to smear the new power of your car in everyone’s face. You will also receive a Polestar Engineered sticker for the grille.
Polestar 2 – Goodwood Festival of Speed 2021
This power cure does not come as a complete surprise. In the middle of this year, Polestar already showed an optically dressed and motor-inflated Polestar 2 during the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The power of that attention grabber was – you guessed it – 476 horsepower.
