Polestar 3: prices and specifications already known!

The Polestar model range consists of only the Polestar 2 for a while. The brand will add the 3 in October. The Polestar 3 is an electric SUV of which the brand has only released two images and summary information for the time being. Well before the unveiling of the Polestar 3, AutoWeek can provide you with exclusive detailed technical specifications and even the prices.

Dimensions

The Polestar 3 is 4.9 meters long and has a wheelbase of 2.99 meters. The sleek electric SUV is therefore only about 5 centimeters shorter than the Volvo XC90. The wheelbase of the Polestar 3 is almost the same as that of the XC90 (+1 mm). With the side mirrors folded, the Polestar 3 is 1.97 meters wide. The luggage compartment is 484 liters. If you throw the back seat flat, you can carry up to 1,411 liters of stuff in the Polestar 3.

Engines and range

AutoWeek also has the technical specifications of at least two powertrains. The Polestar 3 comes as a Long Range Dual Motor and as a Performance. The Long Range Dual Motor has a 111 kWh battery that is good for a WLTP range of up to 610 kilometers on paper. The two electric motors are together 489 hp and 840 Nm strong. This allows the Polestar 3 Long Range Dual Motor to accelerate to a speed of 100 km/h in 5 seconds. Its top speed is 210 km/h.

The Polestar 3 Performance has the same 111 kWh battery, but has more powerful electric motors. The two electric motors of the Polestar 3 Performance stomp 519 hp and 910 Nm to the asphalt. This accelerates the top version to a speed of 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds. The Performance version also has a top speed of 210 km/h. However, the range of the Polestar 3 Performance is smaller than that of the 3 Long Range Dual Motor. The Polestar 3 Performance can go up to 560 kilometers on a full battery.

Unfortunately, we can’t show you the Polestar 3 from more angles yet and it is still unknown what the interior will look like. It is obvious that the Polestar 3 is overloaded with design elements from the Precept Concept. The Polestar 3 will thus be the brand’s first car with a strong front of its own. Less Volvo, more Polestar.

Prices Polestar 3*

The Polestar 3 Dual Motor Long Range has a preliminary fiscal price of €88,600. On top of that are the still unknown costs for road preparation. The provisional tax starting price of the Polestar 3 Performance is €95,200. Here, too, the still unknown costs of making roadworthy will be added.

Equipment

By default, the Polestar 3 is already pretty good in its stuff. The Polestar 3 Dual Motor Long Range has standard air suspension, a comprehensive Bowers & Wilkins audio system and sits on 21-inch alloy wheels concealed by Brembo brakes. Behind the steering wheel is a 9-inch digital instrumentation. The infotainment screen has a diameter of 14.5 inches and is therefore certainly not small. A panoramic glass roof is standard, the same applies to three-zone climate control, soft close doors and a comprehensive range of passive and active safety systems.

The Polestar 3 Performance sits on 22-inch wheels and includes ventilated seats with nappa leather upholstery, gold seat belts and black trim in the interior.

Polestar 3, 4 and 5

The price difference between the Polestar 2 (starting at €48,200) and the €88,600 Polestar 3 is significant. However, it is quite possible that Polestar will also bring milder powertrains to the 3 in the long term, which will depress the starting price. In addition, you should not see the Polestar 3 as a car that is a step above the Polestar 2. In 2024, the Polestar 4 will come, a smaller SUV that will stand between the Polestar 2 and 3. Polestar will launch the 5 in 2025. This is the production version of the Polestar Precept Concept and will act as the flagship. The Polestar 5 was able to show AutoWeek from all angles earlier.
