Polestar delivers the 10,000th Polestar 2 in the Netherlands

A great milestone for the still young Polestar: it has now delivered 10,000 copies of the Polestar 2 in the Netherlands.

About four years ago, Polestar, which was separated from Volvo, entered the Dutch market with the Polestar 1 and Polestar 2. The first has always remained a rarity. Only 29 of them were registered with the Netherlands and in 2021 the curtain fell again on Polestar’s firstborn. The Polestar 2, which, like the 1, was clearly originally conceived as a Volvo, became a completely different story.

The electric long-legged liftback immediately sold just under 3,000 units in our country in 2020. The following year it was barely 2,600 and last year just under 2,200. According to Polestar, enough Polestars 2 have now been delivered in 2023 to bring the total to 10,000. We almost certainly do not see the ten thousandth copy in these photos, because that is a Polestar 2 that was already registered in August.

Polestar didn’t reach the milestone by launching it on the market and then sitting back. On the contrary. This year there was one a fairly extensive technical overhaul, whereby the Polestar 2 was basically rear-wheel drive instead of front-wheel drive. Not only that, the maximum driving range increased to 654 km. Polestar hopes to keep the 2 relevant for the time being. There is also a lot of reinforcement on the way in the form of the Polestar 3, Polestar 4, Polestar 5 and Polestar 6.
