Polestar already confirmed last year that it is coming with a production version of the Precept Concept. We are now seeing this for the first time.

At the beginning of last year, Polestar presented the Precept Concept. A – how could it be otherwise – fully electric four-door with a design language that Polestar further markets from Volvo. Although it initially only seemed to be a design study, it turned out about a year ago that it was really a concrete preview of a new model from the brand. Polestar now shares a photo of the production version and it is already nice to see that they remain quite faithful to the appearance of the concept car.

Of course, many details are not yet visible and the car is even missing almost the complete nose, but it is already clear that the basic shapes of the Precept Concept have been retained. That means that we can count on a pretty hefty sedan (unless the tailgate and the rear window are connected anyway) with a wheelbase of roughly 3.1 meters. A bit bigger than, for example, the Tesla Model S, which Polestar undoubtedly aims at with the Precept.

The Polestar Precept pictured is in a new Polestar R&D center in the UK, but will eventually be built in China. Technical details are still silent in all languages. At the unveiling of the Polestar Precept Concept, Polestar spoke mainly about the use of sustainable materials, such as recycled fishing nets for the seat covers and cork vinyl. We can also count on a certain degree of autonomous driving with the Precept. Undoubtedly, the Precept will be a decent powerhouse with logically a four-wheel drive top version that shoots to 100 km/h in a few seconds. We can also assume an electric driving range of (well) above 500 km.

It is not yet clear when the Polestar Precept will be released on the market. Given that Polestar has been showing it for a while now, it won’t be years anymore. In the course of 2022 we expect at least the unveiling and perhaps also the market introduction late in that year. Incidentally, Polestar will also receive the Polestar 3 next year: a performance SUV that Techzle already looked forward to extensively.
