Polestar is rolling out a recall for the Polestar 2. The electric five-door needs a software update. The Polestar 2 also has to be returned to the garage in the Netherlands.
Polestar is recalling a total of 2,189 Polestar 2 units to the garage. Automotive News reports this on the basis of reports from the Swedish business newspaper Dagens Industri. The majority of those small 2,200 units are driving around in Norway (843 units) and Sweden (595 units). Because the Netherlands is one of the first countries where the Polestar 2 was delivered, Polestars 2 sold in our country should also pay a visit to the garage as a precaution. It would be 280 in the Netherlands, while more than 500 Polestars 2 were delivered in our country.
On three Polestar 2, the drive stopped spontaneously. There would have been no accidents due to the problem. The problem would be purely software, so a software update should be enough to prevent the potential ailment. Owners of affected cars have already been approached by Polestar.
We are still awaiting a response from the Dutch importer.
Polestar
Polestar is a brand that has separated from Volvo and launched the Polestar 1 in 2017. Although the brand presented itself as a manufacturer of purely electric models, the Polestar 1 was a plug-in hybrid. The Polestar 2 presented last year is an EV, and immediately an important one. With the model, Polestar hopes to be able to throw a spanner in the works of cars like the Tesla Model 3. The Polestar 2 has a 408 horsepower electric powertrain that draws its energy from a 78 kWh battery pack. The electric range is 470 kilometers (WLTP). In the long term, the Polestar delivery range will in any case be expanded with the Polestar 3, an electric SUV.
