As if the 911 range wasn’t extensive enough, Porsche will soon come up with another derivative of the model. Porsche puts the 911 higher on its feet. We can show you that 911 ‘Safari’ on this set of spy records.

Elevated Porsches 911 continue to appeal to the imagination. In the middle of this year we were introduced to Marc Phillip Gemballa’s Marsien and Singer’s Porsche adepts also pulled tough raised 911s out of the hat this year. Porsche has not missed all that attention and sees some benefit in a 911 with which you can go a little faster over thresholds than with, for example, a 911 GT3. Porsche has been testing a raised 911 for some time and today we can show you that 911 ‘Safari’ again.

The Porsche 911 in these photos is clearly higher on its legs and has widened wheel arch edges. Although in theory the ‘Safari’ should also be able to handle the road to some extent, in practice the cars will cover the majority of their kilometers on asphalt. It is therefore not surprising that Porsche is putting its latest 911 derivative to the test on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife.

When Porsche presents its newcomer inspired by the rally-911s from the 1960s and the Dakar monsters from the 1970s and 1980s? That’s not entirely clear yet. It is not inconceivable that Porsche will keep the introduction of the model until the 911 line is due for a facelift and comes into the world as 992.2.
