Porsche Cayenne gets fierce top version

Porsche releases photos of a new extra sporty variant of the Cayenne Coupé. The newcomer is based on the Turbo Coupé and appears to be the strongest non-hybrid Cayenne ever.

The delivery range of the Cayenne and Cayenne Coupé is, like that of the 911 and Panamera, quite extensive. The Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid is by far the most powerful Cayenne that Porsche has ever had on the menu. Under the hood is the 550 hp 4.0 V8, assisted by a 136 hp electric motor that brings the system power to an intense 680 hp. That Turbo S E-Hybrid is a plug-in hybrid. In any case, Porsche has a new engine version for the Cayenne Coupé that will go down in the books as the most powerful non-hybrid Cayenne ever. A tailgate, like the one on the plug-in hybrid Cayennes at the rear left, is missing.

According to Porsche, which has put two-time rally champion and brand ambassador Walter Röhrl behind the wheel of a packed test model, the newcomer is based on the Cayenne Turbo Coupé, which has the aforementioned 550 hp 4.0 V8 in its muzzle. This version will probably not be more powerful than the Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid, but don’t be surprised if Porsche manages to squeeze about 630 hp from the eight-cylinder. Although the plug-in hybrid has more power, it will be the most dynamic Cayenne variant. Porsche talks about a modified Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control, wider wheels in size 22 inches, modified suspension and special tires.

It is not yet known when the extra spicy Cayenne Coupé, which may well be called Cayenne Turbo S, will be unveiled.
