Porsche Cayenne GTS

No new or updated Porsche without an almost endless list of engine versions. This also applies to the updated Porsche Cayenne. Porsche’s largest SUV for the time being was already available in many flavors and now another one has been added: the GTS.

The Porsche Cayenne, which was thoroughly facelifted in mid-2023, especially in terms of technical aspects, is again available in two body variants, just as before the trimming session. It is available as a simple Cayenne and as a Cayenne Coupé with a roofline that quickly descends from the B-pillar. Both variants can already be ordered in many engine versions. The Cayenne adventure starts with the basic versions with a 353 hp V6, there are Cayennes S with a 474 hp powerful V8, there are 470 hp plug-in hybrid E-Hybrids, 519 hp powerful Cayenne S E-Hybrids and even 739 hp powerful Turbo E-Hybrids. Are you starting to lose the overview? Then put yourself away. There will be another version available.

Meet the updated Porsche Cayenne GTS. Before the facelift, the Cayenne GTS had a 460 hp 4.0 V8 and this updated version also has a big eight-cylinder with two turbos. This time, however, the 4.0 produces 500 hp. How to install the GTS? Think of it as the engine version that fills the gap between the Cayenne S and the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid, although it is of course not a plug-in hybrid. The maximum torque is 660 Nm. These forces are distributed to the wheels via a modified Tiptronic S automatic transmission with eight gears. The result? A 0-100 sprint in 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 275 km/h.

Stronger, but also tighter

In keeping with tradition, the GTS is not only slightly stronger than the S models, but above all sleeker and more dynamic. The Cayenne GTS and Cayenne GTS Coupé thus enjoy a touch of Cayenne Turbo GT. For example, the swivel bearings on the front axle come from that variant not supplied in Europe. The Cayenne GTS also borrows the cooling system for the transfer case of the four-wheel drive system from the Turbo GT. The negative camber has therefore been increased by 0.58 degrees. The GTSs have adaptive air suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus. All software control systems have been revised.

From the outside you can recognize the Porsche Cayenne GTS – entirely in GTS tradition – by its darker lighting all around, red brake calipers and black accents. The Sport Design package is standard and everything that comes with that package is also available in black. Consider, for example, the wheel arch edges. The exhaust tailpipes, which were previously available in black, can now be recognized by their bronze color. The slippers: anthracite-colored 21-inch RS Spyder Design wheels. The Cayenne GTS Coupé has extras, including a fixed panoramic glass roof and an extendable rear spoiler.

The Porsche Cayenne GTS has a Dutch starting price of €225,300. For the Cayenne GTS Coupé you pay €229,700. They come to the Netherlands in the summer.
