We now know the Porsche Cayenne, which was heavily facelifted earlier this year, as a basic version, as an S, as an E-Hybrid and recently also as a very strong plug-in hybrid Turbo E-Hybrid. Now a plug-in hybrid has been added: the S E-Hybrid.

Last spring, Porsche introduced the thoroughly updated Cayenne and, step by step, well-known versions of it are coming back into the range. Just under a month ago, the no less than 739 hp plug-in hybrid Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid came to the top. Now we are introduced to the new sub-topper, the Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid. It finds its place in the Cayenne range between the E-Hybrid and the Turbo E-Hybrid.

Just like in the milder E-Hybrid, a 3.0 V6 petrol engine is the beating heart of the Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid. It is even as strong with 353 hp and in the S E-Hybrid the V6 also works together with a 176 hp electric motor. However, the system power is one step higher. While the Cayenne E-Hybrid produces 470 hp, the Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid produces 519 hp system power. That is enough to get the plug-in to 100 km/h from a standstill in 4.7 seconds, just as fast as the Cayenne S. The top speed is 263 km/h, which is 10 km/h less than the Cayenne S. An important difference with the Cayenne S is of course that the Cayenne S E-Hybrid can drive fully electrically and can last a maximum of 90 km (WLTP) with a full 25.9 kWh battery, the same length as the E-Hybrid. . In this case, recharging can also be done with 11 kW in a maximum of two and a half hours.

The Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid is clearly high in the range not only in terms of power, but also in terms of equipment. For example, it has adaptive air suspension as standard (just like the Turbo E-Hybrid), it has 20-inch alloys and has matrix LED headlights as standard. In the Cayenne S E-Hybrid you will find eight-way electrically adjustable seats and the Sport Chrono package, with driving modes selectable from the steering wheel and the stopwatch on top of the dashboard. Porsche expects the Cayenne S E-Hybrid to reach Dutch dealers in November. Prices will follow.
