80 percent of Porsches sold fully electric by 2030

The Taycan is currently the only fully electric Porsche, but it is certainly not the last. For example, the 718 will have an electric successor and the Macan will become an EV, but the Porsche Cayenne will also receive a fully electric successor. Porsche announced this during a press conference.
The Porsche Macan will soon be transformed into a fully electric model and the 718 will also receive a fully electrically powered successor. The electric Macan will arrive in 2024 and the electric 718 is planned for around 2025. But it doesn’t stop there. There is also great news for the Porsche Cayenne. Another important caveat: The electric Macan and 718 will initially be run alongside their internal combustion engine equivalents. The new Cayenne will be an EV from the outset.
The Porsche Cayenne will soon be thoroughly facelifted. According to the manufacturer, it has never had so much news in store for a facelift model. For example, the new Cayenne will be available at the bottom of the market with three different plug-in hybrid powertrains. But Porsche is looking further ahead. For example, there will be a fully electric Cayenne, although it is only planned for after the arrival of the electric 718. You will certainly not see that fourth-generation electric Cayenne before 2025. Porsche’s great attention to electric models does not come out of the blue. The manufacturer has set itself the goal of having no less than 80 percent of its sold cars consist of EVs by 2030.
Porsche has also shared some information about another electric model. The brand is working on an SUV that will be placed above the Cayenne. The car – which will be placed on a platform that Porsche now calls SSP Sport – will be fully electric and should attract the necessary customers, especially in China and the United States.
Record year
The preview of new (electric) models goes hand in hand with the presentation of Porsche’s results for 2022. The brand says it has delivered 309,884 new cars. About three percent more than in 2021. An absolute record. 40,410 of these were a 911. The Cayenne was again the most popular model with 95,604 units delivered. The Panamera was good for 34,142 registrations. The 718s kicked it together to 18,203 units, the Taycan and Macan to 34,801 and 86,724 units respectively. China has once again proved to be Porsche’s largest sales market.
