Porsche extends factory warranty due to corona crisis

Porsche has extended the manufacturer’s warranty for new cars where the original term would expire in the past three months. The extra service is offered free of charge.

To accommodate customers a little, Porsche has extended the manufacturer’s warranty for some cars. The manufacturer is doing that worldwide for cars where the original warranty would run between March 1 and May 31 this year. The owners of these cars receive an additional three months’ warranty free of charge. Porsche does this in view of the situation surrounding the pandemic.

The new manufacturer warranty expiration date is calculated based on the original end date. For example, should the standard warranty expire on May 15 after two years, that date will now be moved to August 15. The extension also applies to anyone who has taken out the Approved warranty for a used Porsche. Should the 12-month warranty expire within the corona crisis, Porsche will extend the warranty.

Porsche is not the first brand to introduce such measures. Aston Martin also welcomes its customers during these special times. Incidentally, it was announced yesterday that Porsche will slowly open its factory doors again on Monday.
