Coincidence still exists. Very shortly after Hyundai presented the prices of the electric Ioniq 5, Kia released the complete price list of its at least as idiosyncratic as technically promising Kia EV6. The electric Kia EV6 has a starting price of € 44,595 and can be found in the Netherlands from September.
The fact that the Kia EV6 and the Hyundai Ioniq 5 are closely related does not make the cars identical. Not only do the cars differ from each other on a technical level, the versions in which the two cars are delivered also differ from each other. Kia already announced the preliminary starting prices of the electric EV6 at the end of March and now we have all the final prices.
The Kia EV6 has a starting price of € 44,495. That amount is for the rear-wheel drive EV6 with 169 hp electric motor and the 58 kWh battery pack. It is the unnamed standard version and that is also the only flavor in which the 58 kWh version comes. According to the WLTP cycle, this version will reach about 400 kilometers on a charge. In 8.5 seconds, the basic EV6 has a speed of 100 km / h on the clock.
Kia EV6 GT-Line
The Kia EV6 with the larger 77.4 kWh battery is available with both rear and all-wheel drive and is also available in several versions. The rear-wheel drive is also stronger in combination with the larger package. The unit delivers 229 hp and the whole is good for a range of more than 510 kilometers. In 7.5 seconds it buzzes to a speed of 100 km / h. The starting price of the rear-wheel drive Kia EV6 with 77.4 kWh electric lung capacity is € 52,095. For that amount you directly drive the EV6 Plus version. Prefer the 325 hp version thanks to two electric motors? Can be arranged. Kia asks € 54,595 for the variant equipped as EV6 Plus, an engine version that already hits 100 km / h in 5.4 seconds. The range is more than 490 kilometers. Both the rear and all-wheel drive Kia’s EV6 with 77.4 kWh battery are also available as a sporty GT-Line. They cost € 56,895 and € 59,395 respectively. Due to its larger light metal, the all-wheel drive GT-Line does not go as far as the versions with smaller slippers.
Thanks to 800v technology, the battery pack of any Kia EV6 on a 350 kW charger can be charged from 10 to 80 percent of its capacity with electricity in 18 minutes. The maximum towing weight (braked) of the EV6 with a 58 kWh battery is 750 kg, the versions with a 77.4 kWh battery can tow 1,600 kg. With the exception of the fierce EV6 GT to be discussed below, all Kia’s EV6 have a top speed of 185 km / h.
Kia EV6 GT
Kia EV6 GT
The absolute top version of the Kia EV6 deserves a separate mention. That GT-named version is in fact an insanely powerful four-wheel drive variant with two 584 hp electric motors. Those who do not let themselves be lured out of the tent by the extraordinarily powerful electric motors that the EV6 GT launches to a speed of 100 km / h in 3.5 seconds should be able to squeeze about 400 kilometers from the 77.4 kWh battery. Kia charges € 63,595 for this absolute king of the Kia range. The GT can be recognized from the outside by its specific bumpers, but also by the immense 21-inch wheels with special Performance brake discs with neon-green claws behind them. The interior of the GT is packed with sports seats covered with suede. More GT fun comes in the form of electronically adjustable dampers and an electronically controlled differential lock.
Versions and equipment
The Kia EV6 is already plentiful in its stuff as a nameless basic version. For example, the 12.3-inch digital curved instrumentation and the same-sized screen of the infotainment system are standard, the same applies to things like semi-autonomous highway assistance, smart cruise control and two-zone separate climate control. All-round parking sensors, a reversing camera, front seat heating, a heated steering wheel, LED lighting all around and 19-inch large alloy wheels, as well as an interior with a combination of fabric and leatherette, are standard equipment. A heat pump is an option for the basic EV6 for € 995.

Then there is the version called EV6 Plus. This version adds an interior with leatherette upholstery down to the smallest niches, ventilated front seats, a heated rear seat and mood lighting. It doesn’t stop there, the front seats of the EV6 Plus are electrically adjustable, can be almost completely thrown back and have a memory function. From this version you also have recessed door handles in the door, an electrically operated tailgate, an extensive Meridan audio system with 14 speakers, mood lighting, a heat pump and the V2L technology to charge other electrical devices.

The GT-Line can be recognized from the outside by its wheel arch edges painted in body color, but also by its different and sportier-looking bumper work. More GT-Line fun comes in the form of aluminum pedals and black headlining. The GT-Line equipment compared to the EV6 Plus includes extras such as a sliding / tilting roof, LED matrix headlights with dynamic turn signals, a 360-degree camera, blind spot cameras and an extensive head-up display that uses augmented realitytechnology. The GT-Line also benefits from the arrival of motorway assistance with lane change function, a remote-controlled parking assistant and a more extensive emergency braking system. The AWD version also gets a further 20-inch instead of 19-inch alloy.
