Hyundai Ionic 6

The electric Hyundai Ioniq 6 was already available as a First Edition, but now Hyundai has released all prices of its electric newcomer. The Hyundai Ioniq 6 is cheaper than the Ioniq 5 and also has a power source in the range that the Ioniq 5 does not have.

Highlights

  • From €45,895, cheaper than Ioniq 5
  • From 151 hp, 53 kWh and rear-wheel drive …
  • … up to 229 hp and 325 hp with all-wheel drive and 77.4 kWh
  • Spaciously equipped

After the Ioniq 5, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 is the second fully EV-developed Hyundai. The electric sedan was already available as a First Edition and cost almost €63,000 in that form. Hyundai has now released the prices of the regular versions. What seems? The Hyundai Ioniq 6 is cheaper than the Ioniq 5.

The Hyundai Ioniq 6 has a starting price of €45,895, making it cheaper than the Ioniq 5, which costs at least €48,295. The entry-level price of the Ioniq 6 also applies to an engine version that the Ioniq 5 does not have. The cheapest Hyundai Ioniq 6 does not have a 170 hp electric motor on the rear axle, like the entry-level Ioniq 5, but a 151 hp one. The battery pack is also different at 53 kWh. After all, the entry-level Ioniq 5 has a 58-kWh model. The 151 hp Hyundai Ioniq 6 with 53 kWh battery can travel up to 429 kilometers on a full charge.

The other electric powertrains do correspond to those of the Hyundai Ioniq 5. This means that the Ioniq 6 is also available with a 77.4 kWh battery and with that package is available with both rear-wheel and four-wheel drive. The rear-wheel drive variant has a 229 hp and 350 Nm strong electric motor, the four-wheel drive version kicks it up to 325 hp and 605 Nm thanks to two electric motors.

Range Hyundai Ioniq 6

The Hyundai Ioniq 6 with a 77.4-kWh battery and rear-wheel drive has a range of no less than 614 kilometers on 18-inch alloy wheels. If you put it on the optional 20-inch wheels, you have to settle for a still very decent 545 kilometers. The Ioniq 6 with 77.4 kWh and four-wheel drive comes on 18-inch wheels up to 583 kilometers. If you put the variant with this engine on 20-inch light metal, the range is 519 kilometers.

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 with the largest range is the rear-wheel drive variant with a 77.4 kWh battery. It comes a maximum of 507 kilometers away. The Hyundai Ioniq 6 in the same configuration therefore travels 107 kilometers on a fully charged battery.

The Connect version adds to the above things such as an extensive head-up display, ambient lighting, V2L technology, an extended version of Highway Driving Assist, a heat pump, battery heating, electrically adjustable front and rear seats, a heated steering wheel and privacy glass.

At the top of the status ladder is the Lounge. The Lounge version is on 20-inch light metal, has an extensive audio system from Bose with seven speakers and offers, among other things, a 360-degree camera. The Lounge is optionally available with smaller 18-inch wheels for a larger range. 20-inch wheels are optional for the Hyundai Ioniq 6 with a 77.4 kWh battery, but they do eat up some range. Just like the other versions, the Lounge has recessed handles in the doors, although in this top version they come out automatically. In addition, the Lounge is the only version of the Ioniq 6 – just like the Ioniq 5 – that you can get with the so-called DSM ‘digital wing mirrors’.
