The Hyundai Ioniq 5 will receive a fairly relevant technical upgrade in its first year of life. The electric Hyundai will, among other things, get a larger battery pack. AutoWeek can be the first to report what the improved Ioniq 5 should cost.
It is of course still much too early for a facelift of the Ioniq 5, but Hyundai is already giving its EV an interesting technical upgrade. Until now, the Ioniq 5 was available with a 58 kWh battery and with a larger 72.6 kWh. The capacity of the largest package will be increased to 77.4 kWh, although Hyundai has not yet released what the effect will be on the range of the Ioniq 5. The exact technical specifications of the Ioniq 5 with 77.4 kWh battery will follow later. year.
What we can already report are the prices of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 with the larger battery pack. Depending on the version chosen, these are €900 to €1,200 above that of the Ioniq 5 with the 72.6 kWh battery that will no longer be available. Incidentally, the Ioniq 5 with 58 kWh battery pack is also slightly more expensive. Depending on the chosen variant, the prices of those Ioniqs increase by €300 to €900. Fortunately, you get something in return for the higher prices. The starting price of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 with 77.4 kWh battery is €47,400. For that amount you get the Style version. The version with 72.6 kWh battery in that configuration cost €46,500.
Equipment
Hyundai now supplies new Smart Frequency Dampers (SFD) on every Ioniq 5 that can smooth out small irregularities. In addition, the Connect+ and Lounge versions receive standard preconditioning, a system that automatically adjusts the battery temperature while driving based on the estimated time of arrival at the charging point entered. Preconditioning is optionally available on all other trim levels. The already announced digital exterior mirrors (DSM) that replace the conventional glass ones are only optionally available on the top-of-the-range Lounge at an additional cost of €1,400. Also new is the digital interior mirror (DSC), which is optionally available on the Connect+ and Lounge flavours. Hyundai is asking €400 extra for it.
