The brand new generation BMW 4-series has Dutch price tags. The eccentrically designed coupé, which at design level distances itself even more than its predecessor from the 3-series, earns BMW at least € 26,301 per kidney.
It’s raining price labels today. The most recently printed copies end up on the brand new BMW 4 Series Coupé. The car will initially be available with three petrol engines and one diesel. The price list starts with the 420i, the 184 hp four-cylinder that from € 52,602 lies in the eccentric muzzle of the 4-series. Higher up the ladder is the 258 hp 430i. That 430i must yield at least € 57,100. The M440i xDrive, which functions as the top of the range until the arrival of the new M4, has a starting price of € 79,592. For that amount, your right foot will take control of a 374 horsepower six-in-line. That M440i is, just like the diesels, equipped with a 48v mild hybrid system that can temporarily provide 11 hp extra. All engines mentioned in this article are standard paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Prefer a diesel? That is also possible, with the 190 hp 420d that is available without and with xDrive four-wheel drive. They cost € 54,203 and € 58,367 respectively. At a later stage, BMW will add another 286 hp 430d and a mighty 340 hp and 700 Nm M440d to the price list, six cylinders that always distribute their power over all four wheels via xDrive drive.
The standard equipment of the 4 Series Coupé includes an 8.8-inch multimedia screen, LED headlamps and taillights, Lane Departure Warning, Approach Control Warning, traffic sign recognition and three-zone climate control.
The new 4-series Coupé will be available from Dutch dealers from 24 October. The 4-series family will eventually be expanded with a 4-series Convertible – with a fabric hood – and with a 4-series Gran Coupé. Based on that last body variant, BMW will next year with a fully electric variant: the i4.
