Prices Volkswagen Golf Variant announced

Interested in a Volkswagen Golf, but is the hatchback too tight for you and the Tiguan too big for you? No problem, Volkswagen has now also put the wider Golf Variant on the Dutch price list. The first copies will be delivered in January 2021.

Volkswagen pushed the new Golf Variant forward at the beginning of September. With a length of 4.63 meters, the station wagon is no less than 35 centimeters longer than the hatchback. The Variant is not only longer than the Hatchback, its wheelbase is 2.67 meters almost 7 centimeters longer than that of the already known five-door Golf. More interesting is of course the space in the back. With a capacity of 611 liters, the luggage space of the Golf Variant is a modest 6 liters larger than that of its predecessor. If you throw the back seat flat, you can carry 1,642 liters of stuff along. What does Volkswagen ask for all those liters of luggage space?

The answer to that question is: at least € 28,690. That amount is for the Golf Variant in simply called Golf basic version with a manual six-speed coupled 1.0 TSI with 110 hp. Prefer the mild-hybrid Golf Variant with 110 hp eTSI and a DSG automatic with seven gears? Then count on a starting price of € 35,490. Then you immediately get the higher positioned Life version. Higher up the petrol ladder is the 130 hp 1.5 TSI and the just as powerful 1.5 eTSI, which, like the 1.0 eTSI, is equipped with 48v mild hybrid technology and a DSG7 automatic transmission. The provisional starting price of the 1.5 TSI is € 35,590 and of the 1.5 eTSI at € 38,190. These are the Style versions. From December, the 1.5 TSI and 1.5 eTSI will also be on the market as cheaper Life Business, although the prices of these versions are not yet known. The petrol topper is the 150 hp mild-hybrid 1.5 eTSI with – you guessed it – DSG7 automatic transmission. The starting price of this type is € 39,040. It concerns the Style version. Just like the 1.5 TSI with 130 hp and 1.5 eTSI, the 150 hp version of the Golf Variant is also available as R-Line and R-Line Business. Again, the prices of the R-Line Business versions will not be announced until December.

Prices Golf Variant diesel

Of course, diesel can also be used in the new Golf Variant. Unfortunately, the prices of the self-igniters are not yet known. The entry-level diesel is the 2.0 TDI with 115 hp, which is linked to a manual six-speed gearbox. It concerns the Life Business version. The 115 hp 2.0 TDI is also available with DSG7 automatic transmission as a Life Business from December. The most powerful diesel is the well-known 2.0 TDI with 150 hp. This version, always equipped with DSG, is immediately dressed as R-Line Business. Here too, the prices will be released later.
