DS E-Tense Performance

DS showed its sportiest side earlier this year with the E-Tense Performance. A very strong all-electric sports coupé. The CEO of DS gives in conversation with coach indicates that a production version of it is not excluded, even if it would be a very limited edition intended purely for track use.

A Formula E car with a different look, that’s how you could describe the DS E-Tense Performance. The striking concept car borrows its powertrain from the race car of the Formula E team of DS. Two electric motors together generate a power of no less than 815 hp, which is distributed over the front and rear wheels. The torque is even more insane: a whopping 8,000 Nm. Enough to accelerate the DS E-Tense Performance from 0 to 100 km/h in two seconds. That is actually faster than the Formula E car.

Performance to die for. There are probably quite a few people out there who would like to experience it for themselves. Those who can swim in the money may need to keep an eye on DS. CEO BĂ©atrice Foucher leaves to the British coach know that a production version is not excluded. She does, however, add some serious comments: “It would not be possible to homologate the car for street use, so it will be a very limited, very expensive and purely for the track. I don’t know if there is enough ground for that.” is (…) we’ll see.” Such a sporty monster may not suit the look that DS wants to convey. But, Foucher says, “…we’ve said ‘it would be good if we could build this or sell this kind of car’, but we haven’t decided yet.” Never say never.

Incidentally, there is already a real functioning copy of the DS E-Tense Performance. This allowed our colleagues from AutoBild to go out earlier this year. You can read here how that went.
