The purchase subsidy for new electric cars will not fall from €4,000 to €3,700 next year, but to €3,350. Nu.nl reports this on the basis of reports from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management.
The purchase subsidy for a new electric car this year amounted to €4,000 if you were there early enough. Next year, that allowance would fall to €3,700, but the amount will be smaller than initially planned. The Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management reports that the purchase subsidy for a new electric car will be €3,350 next year. So €350 less than initially thought.
According to the ministry, by further reducing the maximum amount, more people can benefit from a purchase subsidy. The enthusiasm for the financial compensation turned out to be greater than the cabinet had originally thought. This year’s jar was already empty in August. After 2022, the purchase subsidy will decrease further each year. In 2023 the amount will be €2,950 and from 2024 the purchase subsidy will be €2,550. Initially, €3,350 in 2023 and €2,950 in 2024 in purchase subsidy on a new EV. At the end of 2024, the incentive scheme will be finished, while a subsidy amount of €2,550 was originally planned for 2025. The purchase subsidy for used electric cars will remain at €2,000 until 2024. This incentive scheme will also stop with effect from 2025.
Over the next three years, the government wants to allocate an extra €90 million for this. €80 million for the subsidy of new BEVs, €10 million for second-hand electric cars. The cabinet is also allocating €28 million for a separate purchase subsidy for fully electric delivery vans. Hydrogen buses are also part of this.
